Tip Openings

Tip Opening size is the distance between the reed and mouthpiece tip. The smaller the tip size the more narrow the opening; the larger the tip size the larger the opening.

Baffles

The baffle is the most impactful section of the mouthpiece, directly behind the tip rail, extending back into the mouthpiece ~2cm

FACING CURVES

The reed then vibrates along the facing curve while the musician blows into the mouthpiece. The facing curve can be seen on any mouthpiece by looking from the side.

Chambers

The chamber is the open area in the middle of the mouthpiece. The chamber creates the fullness or focus of the sound.
