We designed the DURGA V soprano to be the fullest sounding soprano mouthpiece ever made.  It is a giant leap forward in soprano mouthpiece design!

The DURGA V Soprano Mouthpiece has a very special newly designed baffle. This new baffle allows the airstream to fill up the mouthpiece chamber much more than other traditional designs. Coupled with its new Medium-Stadium-Chamber™ the DURGA V Soprano is not brighter, just fuller sounding. There are a lot of secrets in this particular design.

Don’t let the high baffle fool you, it does not sound thin or nasal….just full and BIG like you’ve never heard a soprano mouthpiece sound before! Suitable for both powerful music and ballads both!

SOUND

  • Great for Jazz, R&B, Rock & Roll even softer music when a sweet tone with clarity is wanted.
  • Projects a sensual tone that is flirtatious and erotic. It makes everyone want to dance!
  • It is so unique; it really has to be played to be understood and believed.

DESIGN

  • Radical proprietary Medium-Stadium-Chamber™.   Rounded inner side walls all the way to the tip. Uniquely shaped long step baffle.
  • Crafted to the highest accuracy in the history of saxophone mouthpieces.
  • Designed by Theo Wanne, the foremost expert on the design and manufacturing of vintage and new mouthpieces.
REVIEWS & TESTIMONIALS

“My favorite soprano mouthpiece EVER! It does everything well and has none of the drawbacks of other metal mouthpieces. Just amazing!”  – Koh Mr. Saxman (Thailand’s Premier Saxophonist)

“The Durga 3 Soprano Mouthpiece blew me away literally!!! I have tried tons of soprano mouthpieces and there is nothing like this, not even close! The consistency of the notes up and down the register is amazing, all remaining in tune! Most pieces don’t stay in tune in the altissimo range, but this does easily. The low Bb is easy to get and warm! I was inspired by Mindi Abair’s new Theo Wanne Alto mouthpiece, but there was nothing like it on Soprano, until now! Thank you Theo Wanne for being a Genius!” – Steve S.

The Durga 3 is definitely a Game Changer! “This thing is unbelievable! The sound is sonically Huge, Fat, Warm and Bright at the same time!!  The Durga 3 is definitely a Game Changer for the new age of saxophone playing!! Fat, warm, rich, clear, brilliant, elegant, everything you could want in a soprano mouthpiece! Theo, you really did a good job on this thing. It’s unbelievable!” – Westcoast Sax Review Watch the full review here!

Theo has created another winner! “Wow, I just received the new Durga Gold Soprano mouthpiece from Theo Wanne and it plays beautifully. It plays very smoothly from top to bottom and yet has that familiar Durga edge that cuts through without being harsh. Theo has created another winner. I just love playing this mouthpiece!.” – Saxophone Insights Seattle Review

Props to Theo Wanne for making a great mouthpiece!  “I’m not one to change my setup much.  I was playing the same setup for 10 years, but then I tried the Theo Wanne DURGA mouthpiece and really really loved it. Similar sound to my prior favorite but it didn’t give me any problems my other mouthpiece did. Props to Theo Wanne for making a great mouthpiece, I’m very happy with it!” – Chris Godber

The DURGA is by far the best mouthpiece I’ve ever played “The DURGA 3 is absolutely amazing. I’ve been playing soprano 12 years, practice every day, and tried mouthpiece after mouthpiece. The DURGA is by far the best mouthpiece I’ve ever played. It has the volume, power and texture I want.  I went through so many mouthpieces over the years. Thank you so much Theo for designing this mouthpiece! .  If you want a big fat sound, I suggest the Theo Wanne DURGA soprano mouthpiece. It has a very easy sound. The craftsmanship is truly amazing”  – Wayne McDonald

The video of Changing pressure plate is very useful. I wish I saw it when I bought TW mouthpiece 2 years ago. I wish that there will be a video for how to place a mouthpiece pad. I cannot place it inside the pad hole perfectly.

The only thing I love more than a Theo Wanne mouthpiece is working with Theo's incredible team. There customer service and attention to detail is unmatched in the modern mouthpiece game. My only complaint is that I didn't start playing their mouthpieces sooner.

I have played a Durga 4 HR 8 Alto for several years and have been very pleased with the sound. But... I was reading Theo's comments on the Durga 5 HR. "It does everything that the 4 does only better". Hmm.... I thought I should try it and because of the trial period I knew I could return it. I am so pleased to say that Theo was 100% correct. I am so pleased with the Durga 5 HR 8. It really does everything better. Thank you Theo.

After a few months of play, I'm happy with this. It plays with little resistance, it's easy to play in tune, and it adapts to a wide range of lesson material. (I'm re-beginning sax after years off, so my embouchure is starting over.) I have a #4 opening and consider it my primary, all-rounder mouthpiece. I had an issue with the brass collar slipping off. I queried TW about it and got an immediate reply. They said they're now gluing them in place and they offered to reattach the ring for me. Or, I could do it with a few drops of Goop. I did it myself and no regrets. Works flawlessly. Thanks..!

The best saxophone mouthpieces in the world. Never had a bad experience with them. I had a few alto mouthpieces and now new tenor Durga and Ambika mouthpiece. Amazing sound :)

I played on the otto link, and was looking for a better mouthpiece, because I didn’t like the otto link for its rough sound.. I studied a lot of information, and I had a choice of theo wanne or jody jazz, and of course I bought theo wanne Ambika3 7* because theo wanne took care of details that bring more comfort to the musician, I mean the silicone pad is recessed and does not cause discomfort, the ligature is always in the right position, etc., Ambika3 is my mouthpiece for everyday playing... I liked everything about it... very much warm and soft sound. It sounds great throughout the entire range of the saxophone, especially at the lower end. I've been playing Ambika3 for 2 years, and I'm increasingly convinced that the right choice was made... now I already have Brahama7* and Gaia4 7 from Theo Wanne. All of them is amazing....
