I have played a Durga 4 HR 8 Alto for several years and have been very pleased with the sound. But... I was reading Theo's comments on the Durga 5 HR. "It does everything that the 4 does only better". Hmm.... I thought I should try it and because of the trial period I knew I could return it. I am so pleased to say that Theo was 100% correct. I am so pleased with the Durga 5 HR 8. It really does everything better. Thank you Theo.
Theo Wanne - Bravo!!!
After a few months of play, I'm happy with this. It plays with little resistance, it's easy to play in tune, and it adapts to a wide range of lesson material. (I'm re-beginning sax after years off, so my embouchure is starting over.) I have a #4 opening and consider it my primary, all-rounder mouthpiece. I had an issue with the brass collar slipping off. I queried TW about it and got an immediate reply. They said they're now gluing them in place and they offered to reattach the ring for me. Or, I could do it with a few drops of Goop. I did it myself and no regrets. Works flawlessly. Thanks..!
I played on the otto link, and was looking for a better mouthpiece, because I didn’t like the otto link for its rough sound.. I studied a lot of information, and I had a choice of theo wanne or jody jazz, and of course I bought theo wanne Ambika3 7* because theo wanne took care of details that bring more comfort to the musician, I mean the silicone pad is recessed and does not cause discomfort, the ligature is always in the right position, etc., Ambika3 is my mouthpiece for everyday playing... I liked everything about it... very much warm and soft sound. It sounds great throughout the entire range of the saxophone, especially at the lower end. I've been playing Ambika3 for 2 years, and I'm increasingly convinced that the right choice was made... now I already have Brahama7* and Gaia4 7 from Theo Wanne. All of them is amazing....
