Description

Our customers asked us for the Holy Grail vintage Slant Sig Otto Link Tenor Mouthpiece…so we made it!

Theo Wanne is the world’s foremost expert on vintage sax mouthpieces and he understands WHY an Otto Link sounds great. So Theo utilized the best design principles from the first Slant Signature models (early 1950’s) through the Early Babbitt models (1970s) to make the new Theo Wanne™ Slant Sig Tenor Mouthpiece.   It is the ultimate vintage Slant Sig Link design.

“The SLANT SIG 2 is amazing!  It is so very sweet and Dexterish! Yesssss:) – Reggie Padilla (Mike Love and the Full Circle)

“The Slant Sig is the crown jewel for me, the “desert island” mouthpiece.” – Robert Martin (Frank Zappa for 20 years)

The Slant Sig mouthpiece is the perfect mouthpiece for students and pros alike. A musician can get the ‘classic’ tenor sound, not worry about inconsistencies that vintage pieces have, or if they are getting the best possible ‘vintage’ design.  The SLANT SIG 2 has incorporated all the best design principles of the vintage mouthpieces. The SLANT SIG 2 has even evolved from the SLANT SIG 1 from customer feedback to become the ultimate vintage hard rubber tenor mouthpiece.  It has even more projection, fullness and warmth…all at the same time.

“The SLANT SIG is amazing!  And it is so very sweet and Dexterish! Yesssss:) – Reggie Padilla (Glenn Miller Orchestra)

“The Theo Wanne Slant is amazing, it is exactly what I was looking for. Not only is this mouthpiece great for jazz standards but it has a more midden sound when pushed playing other music such as funk, R&B and other contemporary style of music. Nice work Theo. This one is truly amazing especially at the price!” – Eddie Baccus Jr. (Pieces of a Dream)

“If I had to pick one mouthpiece, it would be the Slant Sig, hands down. I would have no hesitation relying on it in any situation. With the Slant Sig, you took a tried and true classic design and gave it just the right modern touch to make it more flexible and adaptable than the original. An Otto Link is great for jazz, but the Slant Sig offers much more. It’s every bit as good as a Link for jazz in my opinion, if not better, and has so many other colors you can pull out of it for other styles. The Slant Sig is state of the art. What amazes me about it is that you can just blow into it without any particular preconceived sound in mind and what comes out will sound great, and then you can go for something much more specific, and find that too. The Slant Sig is the crown jewel for me, the “desert island” mouthpiece. I LOVE the sound of the Slant Sig 2! Richer, fatter, more complex, more versatile. I can make it bark and growl almost on automatic pilot already. Thank you, my friend, for your artistry!” – Robert Martin” – Robert Martin (Frank Zappa for 20 years)

“Better than any Link I’ve ever played. It makes my horn vibrate under my fingers. Theo has nailed this one!” – Dave Tondi

“Absolutely the sound I’ve wanted! Plays easy for me and I enjoy using the piece! I just picked up a Selme Mark VI and it pairs nicely for me!” – Steve O.

“This is the real Vintage Sound! Easy to blow, easy to control. Awesome, Wonderful!” – Kaz Ohfuji

The best mouthpiece I have ever tried. End of story!”  – John C

“Why did Theo wait so long to make this mouthpiece?! Its what we all want!” – Akira A

“I really enjoy my Slant Sig!! Was looking for a mouthpiece thats easy to play on to get me through 2-3 hours performances but also to have a full and rich sound. Got all this with Slant Sig. It sings from subtone to high altissimo. Love it!!” – Kostas Savvas Kirkizotis

“I have been playing the Slant Sig every day.  It is fantastic! I am looking forward to learning with it and can hardly wait to play each day. I am an amateur player, but the difference is clear to me compared to my other pieces. I am thrilled with the Slant Sig!” – Ferdinand Geiger

“Just a note to let you know how much I enjoy, and how happy I am with the Slant Sig I bought from you guys. I love it! Beats the hell out of my old metal Otto Link ToneMaster.” – Best Regards, Patrick

“JUST TRIED IT … UN——-BELIEVEABLE !!! BEEN PLAYING A BUESCHER ‘ARISTOCRAT’ SINCE 1945 WITH AN OTTO LINK (NY) 6*—- PUT IT ON AND IT PLAYED SO-O-O-O-OO-O MUCH EASIER AND STILL HAD THAT GREAT 50’S TENOR SOUND. BUY IT !!!” – Gene R

“I just would like to thank you all, Theo and staff, for efforts in creating great pieces of work. For the last past days, I’ve been playing the Slang Sig with different reeds on my Yamaha 62iii. And it has been a new adventure. I play other Theo’s mouth pieces as well on my alto and soprano. Today, I just felt the need to reach out to thank you all. The Slang Sig is really awesome. Just talking about the exterior mode and design, it’s excellent! And then from there, it just grows. I really appreciate all the efforts towards perfection and customer’s choice. Thank you all! Much love.” – Tarrus Powell

“The Slant Sig 2 exceeds my expectations. I have been playing an Otto Link vintage rubber mouthpiece on my Selmer Series III tenor and wanted a replacement. I am sure I am telling you something that you already know: the Slant Sig produces clearer tone throughout the range of my horn and gives me the flexibility to blow with an edge or mellow out for a ballad. The bottom end eases out wonderfully and the altissimo pops effortlessly. Thanks for all that you do! I am very happy with my purchase.” – Bill Patterson

“After play testing the Slant Sig and Durga against several other mouthpieces, I decided I am keeping both Theos ???? They were both head and shoulders above all the others in projection as well as clarity and response!!! Thanks for the great mouthpieces and great customer service !!” – Shan Teixeira

“I recently purchased one of your Sig Slant 2 HR mouthpieces for tenor saxophone along with your Enlightened ligature and pressure plate combo kit. I must say that it has transformed the way my horn plays and sounds (Vintage Martin Committee III) the mouthpiece and ligature just disappear when I play the horn, I am extremely pleased with both products.” – Cal Winbush

“G’Day! I just want to let you know that I received the mouth pieces and your recommendation was 100% perfect, namely Slant Tig Tenor #6 Love it and GAIA 3 Alto #6 IT leaves me to think why in the hell I had been persevering with the mouth pieces I had. Once again, thanks mate.” – Regards David Turk

“Mr. Wanne, I recently purchased one of your Sig Slant 2 HR mouthpieces for tenor saxophone along with your Enlightened ligature and pressure plate combo kit. I must say that it has transformed the way my horn plays and sounds (Vintage Martin Committee III) the mouthpiece and ligature just disappear when I play the horn, I am extremely pleased with both products. Thank you very much and congratulations on such refined products for saxophone players.” – Cal Winbush

“I decided to go with the Slant Sig 2, the palm notes sound noticeably better than anything I was able to do with the Vandoren V16. The palm notes just sing. They are full, round tones! Also, intonation is much better per my ears and also a tuner. It’s great!” – Chris Amley

“Quick delivery. Great mouthpiece that really took my tone to the next level!” – Josh Wakeham

“Just took over first place over the vintage series Otto Link that was my previous favorite! Resonant and yet reasonably stable across the intonation trouble spots…” – Fred Fenter

“I’ve been playing on Theo Wanne mouthpieces (Gaia HR and now Slant Sig 2, on tenor and NY Bros on alto) for a few years now. Best mouthpieces, by far!” – Doron Sieradzki

“Just wanted to say thank you for making such an awesome product! I think I have been through just about every sub £200 HR mouthpiece and none of them compare to how the Slant Sig 2 plays and sounds! It’s not often I feel need the say thank you after I have just laid out a wedge of cash on a product but in this case it was worth every good darn penny!” – Sam Baker

“Recently purchased a Slant SIG Tenor 8 HR mouthpiece and a New York Bros 2 Alto HR mouthpiece. These are both incredible mouthpieces for tone, projection, ease of use and transferring between instruments. I’ve been playing saxophone since 1963 and these are probably the best mouthpieces I’ve used. I’m not a professional any more but I do play every Sunday in the praise band at church and do some occasional recording. Like I said -a great sound. I’m saving my dimes and nickels so I can pick up a Theo Wanne for my soprano sax!” – Joel Sheetz

“Big fan of the Sig Slant 2, this is my very first mouthpiece that I always keep in my saxophone case. It’s super versatile, from straight jazz to funk/pop with a ton of power. I also bought the ligature but the edge are a bit rough and it makes some scratches on the mpc.” – Guillaume Moya
