DURGA 4 Clarinet Mouthpiece

Clear

Description

It is about time there was a truly exciting clarinet mouthpiece, and that is the DURGA 4!!!!!   It is fun, lively, and exciting to play.   Not your traditional classical sound!

The DURGA 4 has a big, rich, and contemporary sound.  It is both powerful and modern, but can also play amazing ballads.  The sound is just downright sexy!  The DURGA 4 is brighter than the GAIA line of clarinet mouthpieces, so gets that extra sizzle and edge often missing in clarinet mouthpieces.   This mouthpiece is not a classical mouthpiece, and does not pretend to be.

“The first thing I love about this mouthpiece is that articulation is really simple, you can tongue really fast, really clearly, and with a lot of sound and volume. I’ve also notice that the high range speaks really well, really loud, and is very easy to play.   Also, these middle range notes speak really well, they speak really nice, which is really difficult to get on clarinet.  Every time I played clarinet I had difficulty with those, the palm keys, before.   I feel like the speak really easily. Definitely get the Theo Wanne DURGA 4 mouthpiece, you won’t regret it.” – Leo P (Too Many Zoos)

Though initially based on the great vintage mouthpieces by Kal Opperman, Theo  decided to see how lively he could make the clarinet, without it becoming harsh in any way.   The result is a lot of fun to play, and takes the clarinet to new avenues of sound.  There are a lot of secrets in the design of this mouthpiece, that are hard to see with the naked eye.  But rest assured, there is A LOT of research and development in this mouthpiece.

Theo Wanne™ clarinet mouthpieces are manufactured to the same legendary standards as the rest of the Theo Wanne™ saxophone mouthpiece line.   They use the world’s most advanced manufacturing, CAD designs, and full five-axis machining, and every mouthpiece is made from a solid bar of the highest quality hard rubber right in his factory in Bellingham, USA.

“It is by far the best mouthpiece I’ve ever played, amazing! Theo Wanne products have an exceptional reputation to which I can attest to.  The DURGA clarinet mouthpiece is definitely my woodwind soul mate :)” – Tracy Vignati (The Vignatis)

“Just wanted to let you know I got the DURGA Clarinet and it is AWESOME!! The 4 is just right for me. These clarinet mouthpieces are fantastic and meet the standards for sure of the sax mouthpieces!” – Steve Soldo

“I can say first hand how amazing these mouthpieces are. I have an Ambika and a Durga and they are the two best clarinet mouthpieces I have ever played. Warm, full, free blowing. There is nothing like them on the market. I know a lot of clarinet players like some kind of lineage attached to their pieces, but man trust me, I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed.” – Jacob Deaven

“I recently purchased the Durga clarinet mouthpiece.  What a piece!  I was skeptical about the cost at first, but I have to say that this thing has blown me away.  I am mainly a sax player who doubles on clarinet, playing jazz, free improv and avant-garde music.  With every clarinet mouthpiece I have bought in the past, there was always a pro/con analysis to determine when I would use it.  This is the first clarinet mouthpiece I have tried where there are no cons – I could tell immediately that this would be my all-purpose, full-time mouthpiece.  I don’t know what dark magic you use to create these things, but keep it up!  My only complaint is that you don’t offer a Durga model for bass clarinet.  I beseech you to add one to your product line.  I would be very interested!” – Thanks, Collin Sherman
