I was raised in a small country village on the outskirts of Glasgow and started playing saxophone age 11. Following high school I studied music at The University of Strathclyde where I graduated with BA Applied Music, 2:1 Honours. Through this time I developed an interest in alternative forms of music as a sax player and began playing live techno/house/r+b/drum and bass with International DJs. These days I play primarily with my band Federation of the Disco Pimp. We have toured the UK, Europe and North America and had several BBC television and radio appearances. With Federation of the Disco Pimp I have supported International artists including – George Clinton & Parliament, Chic, Sister Sledge, Grandmaster Flash, Family Stone, Snarky Puppy, Fred Wesley & the JB’s, Peewee Ellis, Giles Peterson, Roots Manuva, Craig Charles, Lee Fields, The James Taylor Quartet, The Neil Cowley Trio, Hot 8 Brass Band. In addition to my work with FOTDP I have also played/recorded with or supported, Underground Resistance, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Runrig, Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian), Shaka Loves You, Father Funk, Reel Big Fish, Kenny Dope, Thin Lizzy, Electric Eel Shock, The Fratellis, Linden, Carol Laula, Kidd, Nazareth, The 44s, Jesse James, Croft Number 5.
